Holst's The Planets 4

And, this was done over original painting # 11 during that same painting session in my backyard.

Holst's The Planets - 3

The base for this painting was an acrylic painting (# 9 from the original paintings that I posted), and over the course of several hours, it kept changing. I had 10 or so paintings spread out on the grass in my backyard, and kept going back and forth between the 10 paintings.

Holst's The Planets - Mercury

Watery acrylic on canvas, painted while listening to Holst's The Planets - Mercury.

Holst's The Planets - Mars

Per Helen's suggestion, I took a watercolor painting that I had started (and gave up on) and used it as the base for an oil pastel. I was listening to Holst's The Planets while I did this one - Mars, if I remember correctly.

Oil Pastel while listening to Mussorsky

5/26/16- Last night, I took your suggestion and did this while listening to Pictures at an Exhibition. It was fun - I love working with oil pastels because they're so physical. It's on the biggest piece of paper I have - about 20" x 30".

While I was listening to the music, I wished that I had the space and materials to work REALLY big - like 20x30 feet! At points in the music, I would have loved to be able to be able to spread paint with my feet, and really throw paint around.

Update of Painting #2

5/26/16 - This is an updated version of painting # 2. I actually like where this is. Any suggestions?
